Traits
✦ Shaped Teeth ✦ (NPC)
✦ This trait is limited to staff usage at this time, this is to let us iron out the can's and can'ts of this traits effect, and if we wish to keep this trait in the species/release it for community use! Why not keep it held back until its fully developed? We cannot fully develope some of these traits without going through the trial periods of using them in the species!
✦ TO PREFACE: THIS TRAIT MAY NOT BE STAFF LIMITED FOREVER, it is ONLY limited to staff at this time so we can iron out the cans and cants, how it can fully incorporate into lore, etc. Do not ask in qna about when these traits will be released to community usage. It may look like the idea is fleshed out enough below, but theres more to it we need to figure out! If you have any questions please dm Benaberrry or Darci
This trait permits other shapes and forms to teeth beyond the standard scarfox teeth! Any scarfox teeth must rest on a flat 2d like plane like our usual teeth, and cannot resemble or replicate human teeth in any way, shape, or form. teeth must be visible in the mouth, and cannot be extremely short, or so short it mimics the U Missing Teeth trait, or the VR Closed Mouth trait.
Why is this trait unstable? A fox requires the standard teeth to be able to consume things, down to if a fox becomes hollow mystic or unstable, rogue mist to persist exisitng! The alteration of a foxes teeth affects the species (as a whole) ability to thrive, as a choice of teeth can be completely flat smoothed over teeth that are more herbivorous! or even teeth that overlap one another and form a very irregular looking bite!
This trait is combinable with other head traits, such as:
- U Missing teeth to have a tooth missing grin to your fox if desired
- UC tusks/fangs to make teeth overgrow and overlap over one another in a way that cannot close naturally flush any further
This trait CANNOT:
- be mixed with VR Closed Mouth
- form a tooth layout that cannot close completely smooth without the use of other traits
- grow through a foxes face without H holes and tears
Examples of some combinations can be seen below:
